Twenty-nine members of the Minneota High School Class of 1961 met on Sept. 8, 2001 at the Southwest Sportsman's Club as the group celebrated its 40-year reunion. Those attending included, left to right are:

Celebrated author and Minneota native Bill Holm was among 29 graduates of Minneota's Class of 1961 who reunited Sept. 8 at Southwest Sportsmans Club in Minneota.
The gathering of 29 grads marked an impressive 70 percent of the class's 42 original graduates. The reunion was organized by Brenda (Kompelien) Johnson, Rae Jean (Stassen) Gee and Bill Holm.
Attending class members included: Tom Amundson, Barbara (Andersen) Klein, Jerome Anderson, Jackie (Buysse) Reedy, Leonard Coequyt, Lawrence DeSmet, Harvey Gilgert, Nyla Gislason, Doug Hanson, Dave Hennen, Charles Hettling, Mary (Hofteig) Buysse, Bill Holm, Barry Janssen, Keith Klein, Brenda (Kompelien) Johnson, Kathy (Kopitski) Benedict, Karen (Myhre) Schmit, Paul Myrvik, Leroy Neisuis, Hope (Olson) Vasholz, Dennis Ozmun, Lowell Prellwitz, Sally (Rafnson) Petersen, Rae Jean (Stassen) Gee, Rodney Stensrud, Karen (Thostenson) Dunham, Wayne Tollefson and Ray Traen.
Of 42 grads, two members - David Verschelde and Elroy Husohave - have died since graduation day on June 1, 1961.
